Downtown Louisville YMCA Racquetball League

Downtown Louisville YMCA Racquetball League Registration

Now enrolling in the YMCA Racquetball League. The League goes from June 2nd - August 11th.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: is May 29, 2008. (no late entries will be accepted).

Louisville City League – Winter 2008

 

On Thursday, May 1^st, the Downtown Louisville YMCA hosted the playoffs of the Winter 2008 Louisville City Racquetball League.  Over the last four months racquetball players from four venues in Louisville, the YMCA, the Jewish Community Center, Humana, and the University of Louisville, have been competing each month in a team format to determine the league champions for this year.  Players who typically compete at each of those sites made up the teams, each of which had #1 through #4 singles participants and #1 and #2 doubles teams.

 

The UofL team finished first in the regular season standings, followed by JCC, Humana, and the Y finished in fourth place.  The playoffs, however, saw a reversal of fortunes.  The Y upset UofL in the semifinals and defeated JCC in the finals to take home the Winter 2008 Louisville City League champions cup.  The cup will be displayed at the downtown YMCA until the completion of the next city league season scheduled for fall 2008.

Thanks go to the team captains (Bob Poston for the Y and Humana, Howard Kaplin for JCC, and Gordon Henry for UofL) for coordinating this very competitive and fun league season and to John Taylor of LaserWorks Awards for creating the league trophy.  Please watch the KSRA website for an announcement about the start date of the Fall 2008 Louisville City League.
